Siquijor

Siquijor is the smallest island province in the Central Visayas Region. The island can be  seen directly from the shores of Dumaguete City. During the 15th century Spanish expedition the Spaniards named Siquijor as Isla del Fuego "Island of Fire" because they saw the island glowing at night due to the luminescence that was being produced by a swarm of fireflies.
